Great Moments

Isn't it funny how some of the greatest moments are the simplest ones?

Last night St. Louis got a break from the sweltering summer heat that has already set it. I took to my balcony with a tall glass of iced tea and a new book. I read. I sipped. I talked to a certain gentleman on the phone while the moon rose high in the sky. Pretty close to a perfect evening.

Spring Favorites

It's been a very busy Spring. Here are a few of my favorite things from the past few months.

Spending time with a few of my favorite gals at Sasha's on Shaw. They have an incredible Italian wine that has smooth finish so close to chocolate cake that you'll want to skip dessert and order another bottle to share.

Flowers!

Yoga in Tower Grove Park on Saturday mornings. Bring your matt and find a grassy patch near the Farmer's Market to spend an hour stretching. It makes me feel like a city hippy and I love it.

Speaking of Farmer's Markets. What's better about spring and summer than fresh produce - especially when it's growing on your balcony. Hello Basil!

Happy Spring!

Where does my fuel come from?

This morning, as I pulled into the office parking lot, I realized that I forgot to pick up new coffee yesterday. This is no good. We are completely out. There's not even an old filter full of grounds left in the machine that I can attempt to recycle - disgusting as that would be sometimes you do what you have to do to get caffeine.

This got me thinking. I wish I felt that way about spending time with Jesus, reading the scripture, sitting in quiet prayer, listening, talking, seeking. How is it that I have been awake less than 3 hours today and my constant thought has been about the empty coffee mug on my desk and it wasn't until a few minutes ago that I realized I haven't picked up my bible or said even a prayer-in-passing this morning. Sounds like it's time for an adjustment.

*Confession: I'm hoping this adjustment can be made without giving up coffee. I'll keep you posted.
