#21: Pretty Pattern

This is the most beautiful pattern on the most beautiful dress I've ever seen.

Yesterday, I wore this dress and married the most amazing man I know. I can't wait to tell you all about it!

#14 Flowers

These are blooms from the yellow knockouts in our backyard.

#12 & 13: Close up & From a distance

I tried to help with the garden this summer, really, I did. Mostly though, the green thumb in the family is not mine. I started the summer with a lovely ranunculus that promptly died. The next time we were at the garden shop, Justin picked out a very nice and friendly purple flower that turned out to be quite the survivor!

#11: Something fun

Fun = Quality time with Chey, bridesmaid and my hair & style guru. Friday I picked up two giant caramel macchiatos and spent a few hours talking travel, hair, and wedding prep with one of my favorite gals.

Day 10: Something I made

A while ago I put my pinterest.com habit into practice and made a pretty awesome chalkboard for our kitchen. We're crossing our fingers that someone gets us the masonry bits off of our Home Depot registry so that we can hang it up!

Day 9: Faceless self-portrait

This is real life. This is waiting for the dogs to do their business so that I can put water on to boil to make frozen ravioli because there is no time to make something home-made. This is the two minutes of quiet after work and before rushing out the door to another meeting.

Day 8: What I wore

\

Today I wore my favorite brown boots because it's a rainy fall day. By the time I got to the office the sun was peaking out from behind storm clouds. I love mornings like this.

Day 7 1/2: Something new (part 2)

Sierra Nevada by Shabby Apple
I've been hunting and hunting for the perfect Rehearsal Dinner dress. After hours of wondering the mall, I found it online at The Shabby Apple. I fell in love with it. I ordered it and I've been waiting on pins and needles for it to arrive.

Packages in the mail are great.
Packages with pretty dresses in them are the best!

And, today, on Something new day, it's here! It's beautiful. It's better than the pictures. I can't wait to wear it in eight days!

Day 7: Something new

This week I got 200 brand new kazoos in the mail.

I'll give you one guess as to what they're for...

Day 6: Childhood memory

My Grandma & Grandpa Mueller's house as it is today.
So much of my life is wrapped up in a single St. Louis neighborhood - Dogtown. My dad grew up here. All of his stories are on these streets and in the houses and church that line them. Every Christmas Eve from the year I was born until I was in fifth grade was spent in my grandma Hester's tiny little house on West Park Avenue and falling asleep next to her in a pew at St. James' the Greater midnight mass. We hunted for Easter eggs in the back yard. My cousin, Meghan, and I played office in the dugout basement. We wrestled with Grandpa in the backyard.

My brother & I with Grandma Hessbabes on Easter
in front of the same house. She always kept the front
porch painted green in honor of our Irish heritage.
Now, I'm thirty years old and my life in coming into a full circle. My husband-to-be lives in Dogtown and I'm moving into the house in just 14 days. We'll have our first home here and maybe our kids will tell stories that revolve around the same neighborhood landmark that my dad's do. Wouldn't that be amazing?

Me & Grandma

That's Grandpa in the back and you can
catch a glimpse of their dog Pepper at the bottom.

Day 5: Daily routine

I don't think that this post even needs an explanation. What in the world could be more important to my daily routine than coffee. I rest my case.

Day 4: Favorite Color

My favorite color is teal. Also green. When we started planning our wedding last spring it was really hard to choose between the two. But teal won out. So, today's photo is both my favorite color and a wedding sneak peak.

Last weekend while Justin was away on his bachelor party I went to town with my brand new glue gun(!!!) and finished up some of our wedding accents - all of them are full of that beautiful teal blue color that I love.

Day 1: Self portrait

30 Photo Challenge

I recently stumbled across the idea of a 30 Day Photo Challenge. I think I first saw it on pinterest.com but since then, I've seen it on several blogs. October is going to be a crazy, crazy month, but what better month to document with all sort of fun photographs?

So, forgive me in advance if I do more than one picture on some days and none on others. It might end up taking me more than 30 total days, but I'm planning to cross the challenge finish line no matter how long it takes! Here's my 30 day list, heavily inspired by the blogosphere with a couple tweaks.
